2018-2019 MBA Admissions Referral Contest

몇 주전, 내가 나온 Texas McCombs MBA의 Admissions Office에서 

Admissions Referral Contest라는 것을 한다고 이메일을 보내왔다. 

아마도 졸업생 모두를 대상으로 하기 보다는,

나처럼 Admissions Committee 멤버였던 졸업생이나 재학생들을 대상으로 개최하는 것 같고,

경쟁력과 로열티 모두를 갖춘 지원자를 잘 추려내기 위해 실시하는 것 같다. 

이 글을 읽으시는 분 중에서도, 

혹시나 우리 학교에서 꼭 공부하고 싶은 분이 있다면

이런 Referral을 받을 수 있도록 노력해 보는 것이 

합격 가능성을 꽤나 높여주지 않을까 싶다.

2018-2019 MBA Admissions Referral Contest

Over the past few years, Texas MBA alumni and students have served as strong ambassadors for the McCombs School of Business and all of our MBA programs. We want to continue recognizing your efforts and encouraging you to share information about our programs with potential candidates whom you think would be a good fit.

Based on the popularity of the Texas MBA Admissions Referral Contest last year, we are holding the contest again for the 2018-2019 application cycle. See below for more details.

In addition, we will continue to post updates on our admissions progress periodically through our alumni communications channels.

Contest Details

We created this contest because we believe that, as a Texas MBA alum or current student, you recognize the value of your degree and understand the caliber of student necessary to succeed, as well as the importance of a diverse group. The strength of future classes has a direct impact on the value of your investment and we applaud you for taking an active interest in the recruiting process. We want to show our appreciation for your commitment to future classes.

Based on the increased number of referrals sent in the past year, we are keeping the same format for the contest in 2018-2019.

Point System

In this contest, you are awarded points for both prospect and applicant referrals for any of our US-based Texas MBA programs (Full-Time, Evening-Austin, Executive-Austin, and Working Professional-Houston and Working Professional-Dallas/Fort Worth). Point totals will be tallied at the end of the recruiting season in August 2019, and prizes will be awarded.

We will award five prizes – to the highest-scoring alum or current student of each of the five US-based programs. The person with the most points overall will be awarded the grand prize and the remaining winners will be awarded second-place prizes. Points are awarded based on the following point system:

2 Points – Refer a Prospect

• Fill out the prospect form to refer a prospective student to the program.

4 Points – Recommend an Applicant

• Fill out the applicant referral form to share with us why this applicant would be a good addition to our incoming class. Be sure to confirm with the person that he/she has applied to one of our US-based Texas MBA programs.

Contest Timeline

The contest runs from September 2018 through August 2019, with all prospect and applicant referral forms submitted since September 1, 2018 already being counted toward the contest.

We encourage you to start referring prospects today, and an admissions officer will reach out to the prospect upon receipt of the form. Please consider recommending an applicant as it helps our admissions teams evaluate the fit of each candidate.

Prizes

The five US-based Texas MBA programs (Full-Time, Evening-Austin, Executive-Austin, and Working Professional-Houston and Working Professional-Dallas/Fort Worth) will all compete in the same grand prize contest.

Grand Prize Winner (Alumni/Current student with the most total points): Gift basket of McCombs items

Second Prize Winners (Alumni/Current students from the other four programs with the most points): McCombs-specific gift

Winners will be announced and prizes awarded in September 2019.
